XC MTB Team Update ...

Another season is over! Since Schladming a good bit has happened.

Lene did some local races in Norway, but has been feeling tired. Slowly but surely her symptoms revealed "shingles", which is essentially a form of Chicken Pox. Doctors orders and Lene was to rest up, which put an end to her season and Roc D'Azur, the season finale.

Liam has been pestered with injuries following his fall in Beijing, but specifically a bad wrist injury, which turned into tendonitis. Liam barely made the start line at Roc D'Azur and in the final hour of racing his wrist gave him a lot of trouble - he still finished! Liam now needs to rest up.

Susi .... the Swiss Cookcoo Clock's (as I sometimes call him), hunger for racing never seemed to dwell. He attended the Interbike Trade Show in Las Vegas and did some "holiday racing". He won the Cactus Cup, represented Specialized at the Trade Show and also made his cyclo-cross debut, placing 7th in the big event during the Trade Show!  Following the Trade Show Susi continued his "holiday racing schedule" to the Lake Tahoe USA Series XTerra Final. No Susi was not going to swim (if you saw his breastroke you'd know why!!!), but as part of a relay with Ian, a friend of our soigneur Claire and mtb rider Katrina Nash, they won the relay. Conrad Stoltz our XTerra star took the overall XTerra Series!

Jet lagged and tired Susi then travelled to Roc D'Azur where he raced in Friday's Marathon and Sunday's XC Events. Neither went to plan with a double puncture on Friday and a chain link going missing on Sunday.

Liam and Lene are in forced rest, but Susi's biggest "holiday race" is on the horizon. We are both traveling to South Africa where we will do the Cederberg Challenge (head to head!!!!) followed by the our attendance at the Cape Epic Gala in Johannesburg. Here Susi will launch the charitable goal for next year's Cape Epic.
